. -During inquiry-based projects, students should be drawn into thinking critically and creatively about big ideas and key concepts.
-Questions are student driven and the students are actively involved in their own learning.
-Research is not as simple as jumping on the Internet or skimming through a book.
There are 3 levels of inquiry
STRUCTURED LEVEL - The teacher provides the question & gives step by step instruction on how to achieve the answers, This helps students to develop the ability to inquire
GUIDED LEVEL- The teacher provides the questions but the students take more responsibility. The teacher guides the student's learning.
OPEN LEVEL- The students take the lead in establishing the question, choosing the method of research. The teacher takes on a supportive role. Because the students ask the questions that guide their own investigations, it requires higher order thinking.
