What does it mean to be a hero?
A hero is someone in your eyes that is extraordinary and stands out. They are your role model and in your mind, worthy of your admiration. It can be anyone from your parents, a relative, a peacekeeper, a scientist, an athlete or a musician that you really admire.
· A hero is a person who does something that is more than what is expected.
· A hero is someone who helps other people, or helps to make other people's lives better.
· A hero is a person that doesn't want to be a hero just to be famous.
· A hero is a person who tries to make the world a better place.
· A hero is someone that doesn't do something for his or her own benefit but for the benefit of others.
· A hero is not just a celebrity that you think is cool.
The class came up with the criteria for the project: Students are to include the following information in poster OR power point OR format:
Background information on the hero
· Explain the hero’s accomplishments and contributions.
· Why you have chosen this hero/ what do you admire about this person.
· What the impact has he/she made on your life? What could you do to be like this person?
· Pictures and drawing displaying this hero and his/her accomplishments
-Project must be neat and easy to read
- no spelling mistakes, complete sentences, and proper punctuation
-BOLD, BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL
Students will present this to a group of peers. . Project is due October 7th . You will be given class time to work on this . Use your time wisely.

- David Suzuki is a scientist, broadcaster and environmental activist
- Tom Thomson was one of the most important Canadian artists of the early 20th Century; who portrayed rugged Canadian landscapes characteristic of the Group of Seven.
