INVENT AN ISLAND
Invent an ISLAND so full of detail and realism. Refer to an atlas to get ideas. Complete all the following and compile it into a well organized book (This will be called your atlas)
1. Give your Island a name and create a flag. Note: Every aspect of the flag should have symbolic meaning.
2. Give your island a shape. Check your atlas to ensure your island looks realistic. Once you have a final outline of your Island highlighted in dark marker I will photocopy several copies for your group. (Due on June 7th)
3. Decide on the size of your island. Create a scale in centimeters to kilometers. Make your island realistic size.
4. Choose a location. Your island can be anywhere in the world. Put the LONGITUDE & LATITUDE coordinates on your maps.
5. Produce a minimum of four maps, including at least 4 of the following:
-Climate - Vegetation -Population -Cities - Roads -Agriculture
# 1 to 5 should be done by Thurs June 14

It should include geographic features such as - a mountain or volcano - a peninsula - a valley - a bay or gulf - a canyon - - a lagoon - a lake and rivers - a plateau - a delta . When it is dry, you will be painting it in Mrs. Anderson’s class time …when she decides is a good time. (You do not make this decision)
